Just like the classic Magic 8-Ball, sometimes you need to shake things up in order to make serious life decisions and that’s why we offer the No.1 Tall "Mystery" Uglybook package, standing 5.75” tall and 4" wide with all 3 cover(350gsm) and interior pages(135gsm) picked completely at random. 48 pages plus cover. Made right here in the USA.

There are 3 different colored books in the Mystery Pack. Possible colorways are Honey Bell, Lemon Shock, Sprinkles, Chick, Pluto, Very Berry, Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Barrel Juice, Frank, Ball Pit, Mall Madness, Mandy or Mad Mallness. We will occasionally Easter Egg limited editions or one off colors.

Product information

Uglybooks paper is great for most media, but is not treated for watercolor use, even though you will see artists working with watercolors on them.

All Uglybooks paper is made from responsibly sourced ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) virgin fiber. It is archival quality as well as acid and lignen free. This paper is meant to stand the test of time. 

We use biodegradable shrink-wrap except for our Mystery packs.

No.1 Uglybooks are 5.75” H x 4” W x 0.25” D (14.6cm H x 10.16cm W x 0.64cm D)

No.2 Uglybooks are 5.75” H x 8” W x 0.25” D (14.6cm H x 20.32cm W x 0.64cm D)

Uglybooks are 48 pages plus cover, the cover is 350gsm and the interior pages are 135gsm

There is a small Uglybooks logo on the back cover, the other branding is printed on the packaging

Uglypads

Uglypads are 9” W x 12” H x 0.375” D (22.86cm W x 30.48cm H x 0.95cm D)

They come with 25 sheets of 175gsm paper, 5 sheets of 5 different colors

The front cover can slip under the top sheet to protect the other sheets

The pads have a chipboard backer for added stability

The top has a glue edge binding

HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OF MY ORDER?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

If you haven’t received your order within 5 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at info@uglybooks.co with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

All returns or exchanges must be within 30 days of purchase and remain unopened. Unfortunately we cannot refund opened packages. Please email us if you need to return or exhange your product and include a receipt of your order in the package. Customer is responsible for return shipping. How many pages do Uglybooks have?

48 interior pages.

When will my favorite colorway be back in stock?

We have over 3,000 colorways planned. We do not foresee restocking any particular colorways in the next few years, if at all. We might decide to bring back a colorway, but we cannot guarantee which one or when that might be.

Is Uglybooks paper acid free?

Yes.

What weight paper is used to make Uglybooks?

We are use 135gsm for the inner pages and 350gsm for the cover stock.

Are Uglybooks ok to be used with watercolors or other wet media?

Uglybooks do not use watercolor paper. Some of our customers have used watercolors and other wet media, but the paper may buckle depending on the amount of water used. There are techniques to make Uglybooks watercolor safe using gesso or Golden's satin glazing.

Is your paper recycled?

Five of our colors are 100% recycled pulp. The rest of our paper is 100% FSC recycled, post-consumer fiber and are completely biodegradable and recyclable.

Is there any branding on the covers of Uglybooks?

The front cover of all Uglybooks are completely free of branding. The back cover has a small foil embossed logo on the bottom. The books are wrapped with a clear shrinkwrap that includes a printed transparent sticker. The images where you see text on the front of the book is actually just the sticker on the shrinkwrap.

Are all three books in the package the same colorway?

Yes, with the exception of our Mystery Books.

So what's the deal with the Mystery Books?

Mystery Books have three completely different colorways in one package. We try our best to make sure you will receive different colorways if you order multiple Mystery Book packs, however we cannot guarantee it.

Do you have books with multiple interior page colors?

Not yet, but we plan on it!

Will you be making other sizes?

We plan on that as well!
